In cooperation with Visit Baton Rouge, Baton Rouge Social Media Association (BRSocMe) selected eight members to serve as social media ambassadors during the 2014 Miss USA competition and pre-pageant events. The group of eight social media-savvy professionals, known as #KrewedeCrown, covered the Miss USA contestants’ activities for audiences on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram using the hashtags or keywords #GoBR, #MissUSA and #KrewedeCrown.
BRSocMe members who were selected to be #KrewedeCrown social media ambassadors included Kristen Dufauchard, Erin Fullbright, Rebekah Johnson, Chelsey Laborde, Brandy McMills, Trace Purvis, Robin Schooling and Erica Sweeney. Read Visit Baton Rouge’s full blog post on the Krewe.
We were thrilled to be a part of the Miss USA excitement. Our organization is always thinking about ways to promote creative applications of social media and increase involvement in the community, which makes this a perfect project for us.
The #KrewedeCrown coverage of Miss USA 2014 began on May 28 and continued through the on-air broadcast on June 8. All members of #KrewedeCrown were in the audience during the live broadcast – on the floor, 19th row at that.
